Alpha-GPC
Alpha-GPC supplies choline, but much of its clinical literature involves older adults with neurological disease rather than healthy students or workers.
What it is
Alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine is a choline-containing compound. Choline contributes to cell membranes and acetylcholine synthesis, but a biological role does not prove better cognition in a person who already has adequate intake.
What human research suggests
Reviews report possible effects in some neurological and cognitive-impairment populations. The evidence does not establish reliable memory or focus benefits in healthy young adults. Study designs, co-treatments and diagnostic groups vary.
