Iron
Iron is essential, but supplementation should follow a real need. Deficiency can impair energy and concentration; excess iron also carries risk.
What it is
Iron supports hemoglobin, oxygen transport and many enzymes. Iron deficiency can exist with or without anemia, but fatigue alone cannot diagnose it.
What human research suggests
Supplementation can improve physical performance or selected cognitive and fatigue outcomes in iron-deficient groups. It is not a general energy product for people with adequate iron. Testing and the cause of low iron matter, especially with heavy menstrual bleeding or gastrointestinal symptoms.

What to consider before use.
Iron commonly causes nausea, constipation and abdominal pain. Overdose can be fatal to children, so secure storage matters. Iron overload, hemochromatosis and unnecessary high intake can damage organs. It also interacts with levothyroxine, some antibiotics and other minerals.
