L-tyrosine
Tyrosine is a precursor used in catecholamine synthesis. Research focuses mainly on performance under acute stress, cold, sleep loss or heavy cognitive demand.
What it is
L-tyrosine is an amino acid used to make dopamine, norepinephrine and thyroid hormones. Supplementation does not simply raise these signals without biological control.
What human research suggests
Reviews suggest tyrosine may reduce cognitive decline during demanding conditions such as sleep loss, cold or heavy multitasking. Evidence for routine focus in well-rested adults remains weak, and reviews do not support confident general recommendations.
